From choreography to performance, Nicole has spent the previous 17 years of her life happily immersed in the world of dance. Since enrolling in her first dance classes at Centre Stage Dance Studio (New Hamburg) just before the age of three, Nicole has studied extensively in various genres, including acro, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, pointe, ballet and hip-hop. Nicole has also benefitted from several years of experience as a gymnast at KW-Gymnastics.
Throughout her career, it has been a policy of Nicole’s to seize every opportunity to enrich her knowledge and skill in the art of dance. Nicole spent several years training at Unlock Unleash Control (Kitchener), a professional development program for dancers. During this time with UUC, Nicole travelled to New York to take classes at Steps on Broadway. Nicole has also trained personally with Paula Morgan over a number of years, allowing her to develop an in-depth understanding of the stretch and strength training required to develop a dancer with exceptional facility. Nicole’s performance experience includes a guest appearance on a Carnival Cruise Line, Wilmot Canada Day festivities, various charity events, University of Waterloo frosh week activities, a Waterloo Choreographer’s Ball, a Sandvine company event at Pearl Night Club and a Toronto Raptor’s game. Additionally, Nicole has been an actress for Busy Bee’s Parties since 2013.
Fascinated with the creation of movement, Nicole has choreographed for both herself and professionally for several years. Nicole has excelled as a self-choreographed soloist, acquiring a number of scholarships and overall awards – most recently ranking as both the 1st and 2nd place top soloist at Rhythm University Dance Challenge in 2016.
Today, Nicole is continuing to indulge in her passion for dance as a member of and choreographer for the University of Waterloo’s Dance Team, a registered Acrobatic Acro Dance instructor, and a second year faculty member at ‘Bringing Tap Back’ dance studio.
